Organized by the Clinton Climate Initiative - William J. Clinton Foundation

In May 2007, President Clinton announced the creation of CCI’s Energy Efficiency Building Retrofit Program. This program brings together many of the world’s largest energy service companies, financial institutions, and cities in a landmark effort to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings across the municipal, private, commercial, educational, and public housing sectors. Buildings are responsible for more than 50 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in most cities, and for more than 70 percent of emissions in mature cities such as New York and London. Retrofitting public and private buildings to incorporate more energy efficient products, technologies, and systems can significantly reduce energy use and pay for itself through energy cost savings.

Date and Venue
11-Nov-08, IQP, morning
Meeting Room 702

Target Participants

The Clinton Climate Initiative's Building Retrofit Program (BRP) is being implemented across 26 of the largest cities around the world including London, New York, Paris, Melbourne and right across the Asian region in cities such as Delhi, Seoul, Hanoi, Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Beijing & Shanghai. More than 250 projects are now underway in sectors as diverse as commercial office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, hospitals, government facilities, schools and universities, and residential buildings.
This is an open event but is of particular relevance to members of city and local governments, as well as private sector building owners and managers that are interested in reducing their energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions from their buildings through a cost-effective, low-risk and streamlined approach. Also, any other party who is interested in new and innovative methodologies to address the relationship between buildings and climate change.
