Abstract:

In air quality study, the process of modeling evaluation is important to verify the reliability of emissions development and concentration simulation. However, it is impractical to validate emissions for a particular area since emissions consist of many species and release from many sources. In addition, the results of air quality simulation are in need to evaluate to identify a factor of agreement. In this work, a coupling of the Models-3 Community Multi-scale Air Quality (CMAQ) and the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) was applied to simulate concentration distribution over Thailand using the developed emissions inventory of Thailand. The evaluating results of criteria pollutants between modeling simulation and monitoring observation show a relevant trend and a good agreement within a factor of two, indicating the acceptable level of emissions inventory and air quality modeling concentration. The feedback of modeling evaluation can be a guideline for further improvement of estimating emissions and modeling performance.
